FAQ
My fee is $190 per session for weekly clients. For those who prefer to meet biweekly, the rate is $200 per session. Biweekly sessions are slightly longer – around 60 minutes instead of the standard 50 – to allow us a little extra space to settle in, reconnect, and go deeper together.
Â
If you’re not sure which rhythm is best for you, we can talk about that in a consult or first session. I want therapy to feel like something you’re able to truly show up for – emotionally, financially, and practically.
I’m considered an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t bill insurance directly – but many of my clients are able to get partial reimbursement through their insurance’s out-of-network benefits.
Â
To make this process easier, I’ve partnered with Mentaya, a service that helps you submit claims and potentially get money back for therapy sessions. You can check your out-of-network benefits quickly using the tool below. If you qualify, Mentaya can even submit claims for you automatically each month.

Â
If you’d prefer to submit claims yourself, I’m happy to provide a monthly superbill.
That’s such a valid question – and one I’ve thought deeply about. There are a few reasons I’ve chosen not to work directly with insurance companies, and at the heart of it is my desire to protect your privacy and create the kind of therapy space that feels spacious, collaborative, and deeply personal.
Â
When therapists bill insurance, they’re required to provide a mental health diagnosis and sometimes justify the need for ongoing treatment. This can place limits on the pace and depth of our sessions, and it can sometimes mean focusing more on symptoms than on your full story, your inner world, and your long-term healing.
Â
By staying out-of-network, I’m able to offer a more flexible and relational experience – one that honors who you are beyond a diagnosis. I also don’t have to share your private information with insurance companies, which helps preserve your confidentiality.
Â
That said, I absolutely understand that therapy is an investment. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be able to get partial reimbursement through your insurance plan, and I’m happy to help with that process.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long, which is the standard “therapy hour.” If you’re meeting with me biweekly, those sessions are extended to about 60 minutes, to give us a bit more breathing room to reconnect and go deeper and avoid the bulk of the session being “catch up” time.
Â
In general, I recommend meeting weekly – especially in the beginning of our work together. Weekly sessions allow us to build trust, stay connected to your emotional process, and create some real momentum in the areas you’re wanting to shift or explore. Think of it like watering a new plant – consistent care helps it grow strong roots.
Â
That said, therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Some clients eventually shift to biweekly sessions as things start to stabilize or life feels more manageable, and we can absolutely talk about what rhythm feels right for you as we go.
I currently see clients in two Southern California locations:
Â
San Clemente, CA
Â
Â
Â
My primary therapy office is located in San Clemente at a beautiful, healing-centered space called Radical Wellness. This is more than just a therapy office – it’s a collective of holistic providers offering acupuncture, massage therapy, facials, somatic work, and integrative medicine. We often have free community events where you can meet other clinicians and experience their work, and maybe even make a new friend or two! If you’re looking for therapy in San Clemente, or you’re drawn to a deeper, more integrative healing process, this space may just feel like the therapeutic home you’ve been searching for.
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
Â
San Diego, CA (Downtown)
Â
Â
I also have a second office in Downtown San Diego, where I work through RISE, a social justice oriented therapy practice supporting individuals and couples in the heart of the city. If you’re looking for therapy in San Diego, this location may be a great fit.
Â
I offer in-person therapy in both locations and also see clients throughout California via online therapy.
I have a 48-hour cancellation policy, which means I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are charged the full session fee.
Â
I know life happens, unexpected things come up, and I always hold that with compassion. At the same time, your session time is reserved just for you, and I spend time preparing for our work together. Late cancellations also mean I’m unable to offer that spot to another client who may be waiting for time to open up.
Â
That’s why this policy exists: not as a punishment, but as a way to protect the structure and rhythm of the work, and to honor both of our time and commitment
You don’t have to be in crisis to begin therapy. Many people start therapy simply because something doesn’t feel quite right – they feel stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected from themselves or others. If you’ve been wondering, “Do I need therapy?”, it may be a sign that part of you is already reaching toward healing and support. Amazing!
Â
You might benefit from therapy if you’re experiencing:
Â
Anxiety or stress that’s hard to manage on your own
Relationship issues, patterns, or loneliness
Spiritual confusion or healing from religious trauma
Feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough”
A desire to explore your past, your identity, or your inner world more deeply
Â
In session, I create a warm, relational space where we can gently explore what’s going on – whether it’s something specific, or just a sense that you’re ready to grow, heal, or reconnect with yourself.
If you’re looking for therapy in San Clemente, San Diego, or anywhere in California, I offer both in-person and online sessions, and I’d be honored to be your therapist through whatever season you find yourself in right now.Â
Clients have told me that therapy with me feels warm, spacious, and deeply human. I’m not a blank slate – I show up as a real person in the room with you. I listen closely, with curiosity and care, and I’m always holding the bigger picture of your story, not just the symptoms or surface-level stuff.
Â
My approach is relational and psychodynamic, which means I’m interested in your past, your inner world, and the ways early experiences may still shape your life today. I also draw from parts work (like IFS) and AEDP, so together we’ll gently explore different aspects of you – especially the tender or protective parts that might be showing up in relationships, anxiety, self-doubt, or moments of emotional overwhelm.
Â
I work well with people who feel deeply, who want to understand themselves better, and who are craving something more honest and meaningful in their lives or relationships. Whether you’re dealing with religious trauma, navigating a breakup, major life transition, stressed about the state of the world right now, or you’re just feeling lost and unsure where to begin, you don’t have to sort it all out alone.
Â
Therapy with me is a collaborative process. We move at your pace. You’ll never be rushed or pushed – but I will be right there with you, helping you connect the dots, stay with the hard feelings, and discover the strength and clarity already inside you.
It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous before your first therapy session – kind of like a first date. You’re meeting someone new, talking about real things, and stepping into the unknown. That can feel both brave and a little daunting. But I promise, you don’t have to have it all figured out to begin.
Â
In our first session, I’ll invite you to share a bit about what’s bringing you in – whether it’s anxiety, relationship issues, religious trauma, identity confusion, or just a sense that something’s off. You can share as much or as little as feels right. I’ll ask some gentle questions to help us get oriented, and we’ll start to get a feel for how it might be to work together.
Â
I’ll also share a bit about how I work and where I might see us headed in our work together. You can ask me anything, and we’ll talk about what you’re hoping to get from therapy and what rhythm of sessions might feel right for you.
Â
Most importantly: the first session is just the beginning. Therapy is a relationship, and like any meaningful relationship, it takes time to settle in. So if it feels a little awkward or uncertain at first – that’s okay. Stick with it. Something really good may be starting here.
Yes, I specialize in therapy for teens and adolescents, and it’s some of the most meaningful work I do. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental space where teens can talk openly about what they’re going through – whether it’s anxiety, depression, loneliness, academic pressure, identity exploration, or the challenges of navigating friendships and family dynamics.
Â
If you’re a parent looking for a therapist for your teenager in San Clemente, San Diego, or online anywhere in California, I understand how tender this process can feel. You want someone your teen can truly connect with – and someone you can trust to hold their story with care and insight.
Â
I work well with sensitive, creative, or thoughtful teens – especially those who might not feel like they fit the mold. My approach is relational and trauma-informed, and I use tools from parts work, psychodynamic therapy, and emotion-focused modalities like AEDP to help teens feel seen, understood, and more confident in themselves.
Â
I also collaborate gently with parents, offering insights and support when appropriate, while still protecting your teen’s need for a confidential and safe space.
When teens are feeling anxious, withdrawn, or disconnected, it’s often a sign they’re carrying more than they know how to express. In therapy with teens, especially those dealing with anxiety or social isolation, I create a warm, nonjudgmental space where they can slow down, feel seen, and begin to explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. Healing begins in a solid relationship, and we can create that together in the therapy room.
Â
My approach is relational, psychodynamic, and trauma-informed, drawing from parts work (IFS) and AEDP to help teens build emotional awareness, self-trust, and deeper connection to themselves and others. I don’t push or pathologize – I move at their pace and focus on building a real relationship, which is often the foundation for meaningful change.
Â
If you’re looking for a teen therapist in San Clemente, San Diego, or online in California, I’d be honored to support your teen in finding a steadier, more connected way of being.
Yes – if you want to. I don’t approach therapy from any specific faith-based lens, but I deeply respect the role that spirituality, faith, or deconstruction can play in someone’s healing journey.
Â
I personally come from a Christian background and have walked through my own process of faith deconstruction, so I understand how complex, painful, and also freeing that process can be. Whether you’re exploring your spirituality, healing from religious trauma, or simply trying to make sense of what you believe now, I’ll meet you exactly where you are – with curiosity, compassion, and zero agenda.
Â
I trust your intuition and your inner knowing. My goal is never to steer you toward any belief system, but to support you in discovering what feels most true and life-giving for you. For some clients, that means weaving in prayer, ritual, or spiritual exploration. For others, it means making peace with their past or grieving what was lost in their faith experience.
Â
If you’re looking for therapy that honors spirituality or supports faith deconstruction – whether in San Clemente, San Diego, or online across California – I’d be honored to walk with you.Â
I’m so glad you asked, and I’m thrilled to meet you and help you get started with me!
